Special 25th Anniversary Edition!

The people and the project that is Banana Stand Media has reached a historic landmark. Well, maybe not to you. But fuck you! Not really, we love you and take every word back, baby, come on… After, let’s see, what the hell is this, umm, 10! Ten Months! Yes, after ten months we’re managed to release twenty-five stellar tracks from Portland-based musicians and bands through The Banana Stand Music Podcast.

This has been, in no small part, to the work of friends and fans like Nick Taplin, Ross Faulkenberg, Jott, Louie Herr, Tall, Thundercat, Noise, and every band we’ve ever spoken to and who has given us advice. Most importlantly, we’d like to thank all the bands who’ve agreed to go along with this idea that great music can be fun and free. I’ve been to lucky enough to enjoy the ride.

Ed: A more complete but still incomplete list of people the ‘Stand would like to thank: Tranquilazer, Deer or the Doe, Lonesome Radio Heart, Mythological Horses, Saucy Yoda, Hungry Mob, Alex Arrowsmith, Curious Hands, Cinema Minimal, Greater Midwest, Wooden Indian Burial Ground, Dolly Was Deluged, The Grokkers, Please Step Out of the Vehicle, Penguin Jetpack, Nordic, Jippedo, Modernstate, Aaron Colter, Ross Faulkenberg, Jott Robertson, Nicholas Taplin, Ryan Lewis, Paul Culpepper, Craig Means, Prophet Noise, Shawn Pike, Adam Pike, Chris Allen, Kevin Ellis, Nick Arneson, Jake Schmitt, Blake Carillo, Clint Cunningham, Brain Swayne, Aaron Miller, everyone from Tech Offensive, and everyone I missed.

To everyone that’s helped us out – please continue giving us your support so we can continue to share the sounds of Portland with the world. (The best way is by telling friends!)

This week’s tack marks number twenty-five and it’s by Jippedo. Jippedo performed with the one of the bands that started it all – Tranquilazer, along with Portland legend – Modern State. The new track is called Wet Heading West, and it’s about and Pacific Northwest as you can get, so dig it.
